During the trip you will learn about Kyrgyz traditions and culture, because the Kyrgyz being nomads for many years managed to keep all their amazing traditions and customs till now days.
Day 1: Bishkek - Chon Kemin valley (170 km - 4 h)
Your guide will meet you at Manas International Airport and accompany you to Bishkek City (30 min. drive), where you will start the day with a breakfast in Dungan (Chinese Muslims) guesthouse. If you arrive too early we offer you a nice room with comfortable beds and you will be able to take a shower. The half day is spent for a guided Bishkek City Tour, including lunch. The tour includes the visiting of the central Ala-Too Square, Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Pobeda Square (Victory Square, dedicated in honor of the deceased in the Great Patriotic War), National Philharmonic, Oriental Bazaar, Art Gallery and much other sightseeing. Then we head to Chon Kemin valley, on the way visiting the Burana Museum, a site of a medieval city of Balasagun, the capital of the Karakhanid Kaganate, a Turkic dynasty of the 11 century. Dinner and overnight in Ashuu guesthouse.
Day 2: Chon Kemin valley - Tamga (150 km - 4 h)
After breakfast we will have time for a picture taking to capture all the beauty of Chon Kemin Valley, large alpine valley. Here you will see Kyrgyz nomads with their yurts and livestock as it was thousand years ago among the Tian Shian Mountains, fast rivers, pine trees. Before our departure to Tamga village, we will stop not far from Chon-Kemin in order to walk 2 hours in Konorchek labyrinths, where at the end of the gorge you will watch you a magic view where of red mountains. After this we stop for picnic. Then we continue our trip to Tamga village that is situated on the southern shore of Issik Kul lake, the second largest mountain lake in the world and the biggest lake in Kyrgyzstan. There functions a sanatorium in Tamga where soviet astronauts used to rehabilitate and train their skills. The altitude and climate was just perfect for them. On the way to Tamga we will visit our famous Talgat - a hunter with golden eagles. He will tell us about his birds. After it we can do some photos of the eagles. After arrival in Tamga village you will have sometime to swim in the lake. Accommodation in Askar guesthouse (1600m).
Day 3: Tamga - Barskoon gorge - Dunguromo Pass (3570 m) - Dugurotmo gorge
The day starts with breakfast. Our first destination for today is Barskoon village, where we will visit the family occupied with manufacturing yurts. Here you are going to learn many interesting facts about these felt nomadic dwellings. Then we continue our way to Barskoon gorge, one of the most picturesque pleces in the mountainous Terskey Ala Too. There is one of the highest waterfalls in Kyrgyzstan (alt. 2500 m) that is 60 meters high. We will see the stone of astronauts, where is a sign of first man in the space - Urii Gagarin. From this place we start our trekking. We will have an ascent to Dunguromo pass (3100 m) passing through which we find ourselves in a striking valley Dunguromo. Having covered a few kilometers down from the pass, we stop for the camping. Dinner will give us an opportunity to share with impressions of the first day. Night in tents at the altitude of 2850 m.
Day 4: Dungurotmo gorge - Zauka Pass (3750 m) - Chokolu Lake (7 hours)
Today we have to get very early in the morning at 7 o'clock. We have a « vertical » hike to the Chokolu Lake over Zauka Pass. It is a historical pass, the part of the great Silk Road. Famous travelers passed this place in the earliest time: Ella Mayart 1932, Semenov Tyanshyanskii 1856, the Chinese Muslims came from China 200 years ago. The landscape is relatively flat, from vegetation prevails fine grass and moss, the climate is close to that of tundra. Approaching to the lake we will set up camp for the night. Night in tents at the altitude of 3800 m.
Day 5: Chokolu Lake - Zauka Pass (3750 m) - Dzukuu gorge - Ashu Kashka Suu gorge
As soon as we are done with breakfast we have to get all our equipment and belongings prepared for immersing on the horse we will go further. We have to get back to the Zauka pass and after passing it we will come to the Dzhukuu valley. Then we go down the gorge about 20 km and reach the foot of the Ashu Kashka Suu gorge where we break camp for the night. On the way meeting with Kyrgyz nomads who live here in summer time. Kyrgyz nomads are famous for their astonishing hospitality in Central Asia. We can try Kyrgyz cheese and beer (fermented mare's milk). Dinner and overnight in tents at the altitude of 2770 m.
Day 6: Ashu Kashka Suu gorge - Ashu Tor Pass (3490 m) - Jukuchak gorge (7 hours)
Early in the morning - preparing all of our gear and then we will hike up the gorge Ashu Kashka Suu. Approaching the foot of the pass, we will make a short break for lunch and then we will have to climb to the Ashu Tor Pass (3490 m). After the pass we get into the Dzhukuchak gorge where the warm mineral springs are. Here we are given an opportunity to take a bath with hot mineral water which we all dreamed of for now 4 days of our trek. After good bath our guide will offer you a local beer but not Kyrgyz beer, this time is real Kyrgyz beer. Dinner and overnight is organized in tents at the altitude of 2500 m.
Day 7: Dzhukuchak gorge - Orto Bulak Pass (2900 m) - Kichi Kyzyl Suu gorge
Our first destination is Kichi Kyzyl Suu Valley. First we reach the territory of Issyk Kul forestry that is located in the Dzhukuchak gorge. Further we have to climb to the pass Orto Bulak (2900 m). Then we come to the Kichi Kyzyl Suu gorge where we set up our camp for the night. This place is famous for its incredible beauty and stunning views of mountains. Dinner. Sharing impressions of the passed day. The night you will spend in tents at the altitude of 2300 m.
Day 8: Kichi Kyzyl Suu gorge - Chon Kyzyl Suu gorge - Jili Suu water warm springs
After we start our trekking in the direction of the picturesque valley - ChonKyzyl Suu. First we have to descend to the Kichi Kyzyl Suu gorge through the territory of forestry. Then we will go along the Djily Suu Mountains and finally we arrive in Chon Kyzyl Suu gorge. Here we enter the area of Ak Tash. Then we go up about three miles up to the warm mineral springs where we will again be able to take a warm bath and relax. The region is renowned for its striking beauty: nomads undescrabable mountains make you will about the whole world! Overnight in tents at the altitude of 2150 m.
Day 9: Chon Kyzyl Suu gorge - Kok Dzhayyk Pass (2700 meters) - Jeti Oguz gorge
Today is the last day of our trekking. After breakfast we will go towards the Jeti Oguz gorge - one of the most popular places to visit in our country. First, we went down to the place of Ak Tash, where we traverse the river Kyzyl Suu (Red River). Then we start the ascent to the pass Kok Dzhayyk. The road will pass through a small pine forest, which will impress you with its silence. It seems as if the whole world looks at you from there. After the forest we will have a look at the Jeti Oguz gorge which will impress you for certain. After a couple of kilometers we get the yurt camp Kok Dzhayyk where we stay for the night. Dinner and overnight in yurts at the altitude of 2300 m.
Day 10: Jety Oguz gorge - Karakol (30 km - 1 h)
After breakfast we will continue our journey in the direction of the capital of Issik Kul region. Check-in hotel Elita**. Today we will visit Prjvalsky Memorial Complex, devoted to the famous Russian explorer of Central Asia who had made a big contribution to the development of geographic science on Tien- Shan Mountains . In order to understand the Kyrgyz life of the 19th century we will visit the Holy Trinity Cathedral and the wooden mosque, made in the Chinese style. In the evening we drive to Dyishin village, where we will have dinner with Chinese Muslims, here they are called Dungans. They came from Dunhuang, central China. Chinese Muslims came to Kyrgyzstan 200 years ago when it was a war between Chinese of different religious beliefs. They are good agricultural masters and very famous for national cuisine. We will try different kinds of salads and of course national dungan bread. After dinner we will come back to hotel.
Day 11: Karakol - Kochkor village (330 km - 6 h)
Early in the morning we move to the Kochkor village, where we can explore national traditions and customs, watch the process of making traditional Kyrgyz carpets and visit a handicraft museum. Also we will see and participate in the process of assembling a yurt, a traditional felt house of nomadic people. In the evening you will listen to the local folklore show. On the way to Kochkor village we will drive along the north shore of Issyk Kul Lake - it means that you will see the "pearl of Central Asia" form all sights! Dinner in a yurt and carpet-making show. Overnight stay is in a guesthouse.
Day 12: Kochkor - Bishkek
Transfer to Bishkek. Accommodation is in a guesthouse. You are given free time to go shopping or to walk in the capital.
Day 13: Bishkek - Europe
Your guide meets you at the hotel at the pick up time arranged previously according to your flight details and accompanies you to Manas International Airport.
